About Cambridge AS & A Level Computer Science

Cambridge AS & A Level Computer Science

Cambridge International AS & A Level Computer Science covers programming, data structures, computer systems and problem-solving. It suits students heading toward software engineering, data science or computing degrees.

The AS & A Level Computer Science collection includes the Cambridge coursebook and the Hodder Education edition. Both are aligned to the current Cambridge International syllabus.

Algorithms, logic and system design are explained with code examples students can work through independently. Each concept builds on the last, following the structure of the written and practical papers.

Practical tasks throughout the book build the problem-solving skills the Cambridge exam tests directly. Worked solutions help students check their approach before attempting harder questions.

Programming exercises cover pseudocode and common languages taught in UAE schools, giving students transferable coding practice. Data representation, networks and system architecture are all covered in depth.

Both books work well for self-study alongside classroom teaching, since explanations do not assume prior programming experience. This makes the collection suitable for students new to the subject at AS Level.

Students often combine Computer Science with the A & As Level Information Technology Collection. Others pair it with the A & As Level Mathematics Collection instead. Studying two of the three often reinforces the core concepts faster.

See the full A & As Level Collection for related titles. Delivery is available across the UAE and GCC.
